The scope of this policy

 

This Privacy Policy applies to all editing services offered through the it’s novel website, www.itsnovelinks.com and my profile through the Fiverr platform, www.fiverr.com/kchelse,  including, but not limited to, alpha reading, beta reading, chapter reviews, developmental editing, and character development. This Privacy Policy applies to all digital products offered through the it’s novel website, www.itsnovelinks.com, including but not limited to, the email subscription freebie, writing templates/trackers and writing templates/guides.

 

Information collected

• ​If you purchase a service and/or digital product through my website, I collect the personal information of your name, surname, email address and payment details.

• If you purchase a service through my Fiverr profile, I collect the personal information of your username.

• If you purchase a service through either my website or Fiverr profile, I collect the information regarding your original work, which is the manuscript, questions regarding the content of your manuscript, my feedback documents, and any other related notes you provide for your manuscript review and/or edit. 

• If you visit my website, I collect the information of your IP address, browser type, and usage data.

 

How your information is used

• Your information regarding your original work will be used to complete the reviewing and editing services. 

• Your respective personal information for my website and Fiverr profile will be used to communicate with you. 

• All the information collected will be used to manage orders that you have purchased through my website or Fiverr profile.

• Your personal information will be used to send through your invoices, receipts, and service updates when and where applicable. 

• All your information collected will be used to comply with legal and tax obligations.

 

Clients and children’s privacy 

• All of my editing services and digital products are not directed to children under the age of 13 years. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 years.

• If I uncover that a client has misinterpreted their age and is under the age of 13, I will promptly inform them, delete their information and cancel any associated services. 

• For clients under the age of 18 years must obtain the consent of at least one parent or legal guardian over the age of 18 years before purchasing and using any of my services. 

• I may further request confirmation of the consent of the parent or legal guardian if it’s suspected that a client is under the age of 18.

• I rely on the information provided by clients during the purchasing process. While I do take reasonable steps to ensure and enforce these age restrictions, but I cannot guarantee that all clients truthfully disclose their age. If you believe that your child has provided personal information without your consent, please immediately contact me so that we can take appropriate action.

• I do not use any child’s personal data for marketing, sales or profiling purposes.

• For parents and legal guardians, you have the right to review, request deletion, or refuse further collection of your child’s personal information. 

 

Client information sharing and disclosure

• All your information collected is not sold or rented out by me.

• If you purchase any of my services through my Fiverr profile, then you agree to allow Fiverr to process your information according to their policies. 

• By accessing and/or purchasing any of my services through my website or Fiverr profile, you are aware that third parties, such as payment processors and website hosts, may require your information collected to assist me in delivering your service.

• All manuscripts, manuscript questions, and related materials shared with me are treated as strictly confidential. 

• I will never disclose, reproduce, or distribute your original work without your explicit written consent.

• I am committed to never sharing your original manuscript with third parties, subcontractors, or any external services. 

• All editing is completed by me, ensuring that your intellectual property remains secure and private. 

• I will not use your manuscript for any promotional purposes, case studies, or samples unless I have your explicit written permission. 

• Your manuscripts are stored securely during the editing process, and follows the appropriate deletion process once the service is completed. 

• The access to your manuscript is restricted to authorised personal only, and in this case, me. 

• However, you can expect disclosure to occur if required by law, regulation, or any other valid legal requests. In such circumstances,, you will be promptly notified unless legally prohibited. 

• My confidentiality practises are designed to safeguard both your privacy and your intellectual property rights. 

 

Data retention and deletion 

• I keep your manuscripts and any separate feedback documents or files only for as long as needed to complete the service and handle immediate follow-up, such as revisions or clarifications.

• After this period—typically 30 days from delivery—manuscripts, feedback documents and manuscript questions are securely deleted. This ensures your creative work remains confidential and not indefinitely stored.

• I retain invoices, receipts and communication records (such as emails and messages on my website and Fiverr chat) for up to 5–7 years, as required by tax and accounting laws.

• However, these records contain only the minimum personal information necessary, such as your name, email or Fiverr username.

• Your contact details, aside from your email, are only kept while I have a legitimate business reason, such as ongoing projects or legal obligations. Once your contact details are no longer needed, they are securely deleted.

• When your data is deleted, it is permanently removed from my systems instead of simply moving it to a “trash” folder, ensuring it can’t be recovered. 

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

• All of my editing services are completed personally and manually by me.

• I do not use or employ the usage of artificial intelligence (AI), artificial intelligent tools, machine learning systems, or any automated systems or algorithms to review, analyse, or edit your manuscript.

• Your manuscript is your intellectual property. By ensuring that all reviewing and editing is conducted by a human editor, me, I safeguard your original, creative work from being processed, stored, or reproduced by external artificial intelligent systems.

• This approach prevents any risk of unauthorised use, reproduction, or exposure of your manuscript to third-party technologies. 

• As artificial intelligence systems often rely on external servers and data processing, any usage of them can compromise the confidentiality of your manuscript. Therefore, as I avoid the usage of artificial intelligence tools, I ensure that your original work remains private, secure, and handled only within the scope of the agreed upon services.

• I am committed to respect your privacy, protect your intellectual property, and maintain the integrity of your original work. Thus, you can be confident that your manuscript is reviewed with care, discretion, and professional expertise of a human, not artificial or automated systems. 

 

Payment security

• If you purchase any of my services and/or digital products through my website, you are aware and agree that they are processed by trusted third party payment gateways. I do not directly collect or store your full payment card information on my servers. 

• If you purchase any of my services through my Fiver profile, you are aware and agree that all payments are processed through Fiverr’s secure platform. I do not have access to your payment or banking information.

• My website uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt data transmitted between your browsers and my servers, ensuring that sensitive information remains confidential. 

• As part of my website plan, you receive the extra benefit of an additional layer of security, which includes advanced monitoring and compliance with industry standard practices.

• You are to ensure that the manuscripts you submit are in accessible formats, such as .docx or .pdf,  to facilitate secure editing. 

• You are to ensure you only submit manuscripts that are your original work or works that you hold full rights and ownership for.

• Do not submit manuscripts that belong to someone else or others without their explicit written permission. If you submit on behalf of someone else, you must ensure you submit their written consent along with their manuscript.  

• You have to acknowledge and accept all responsibility that your manuscript does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party.

• You have to acknowledge and agree to not hold it’s novel accountable, liable or responsible for any dispute arising from manuscripts submitted without proper ownership or authorisation. 

• You are responsible for clear communication of your request to grant or restrict permissions of how your manuscript may be used. 

• You are to respect my confidentiality commitment by not requesting to me to disclose any original work or information of other clients. 

• You are encouraged to entrust that the reviewing and editing of your original work is conducted by a human, and that I am committed to refrain from the usage of any AI tool to complete the services.

• You are to understand that your original work remains private and will not be processed by external systems. 

• You are responsible to ensure your contact information is accurate and up to date so that I can fulfil your rights, such as accessing your personal information for correction or deletion. 

• Ensure that you submit early requests if you wish to exercise your data rights and to provide proof of identity when required and where applicable. 

• You are to retain your own records of transactions and communications for your reference.

• You are responsible to ensure that you use secure connections when you purchase and make payments for any of my services through my website or Fiverr profile.
